A little homesick stargazer.

No, the fact that you can see the satellite isn't physically inaccurate, it's just… uhhh… an alien planet. Let's go with that.

Compared to its 'smoother' prior incarnation from last year, in this image I opted for a more 'organic'-looking painted approach, similar to that from my previous image. I do like how it turned out.

Overall, I probably spent far too long on this project. The end result may look relatively unassuming, but a significant duration was spent simply on determining the lighting. Nonetheless I do enjoy how the composition turned out; dark satellite against bright night sky, bright robot against dark grass.
